Issues
Crows soar in the porcelain sky; reaching down to where a white doe wanders
They scream and come dangerously close to her skin and
She stumbles, eyes narrowed against pointed beaks, delicate ears pricked over the harsh cries
Ahead, there is a man, hand stretched out to her, pleading for her to follow, promising sanctuary
She yearns to join him but the crows have followed her for so long
She is afraid of starting over, afraid that, left alone and angry,
They will find her again and tear out her insides
She’s never lived by the hand of another, always been wild
Free
But this is not freedom, she must feed each crow or they’ll eat her
Once long ago, she’d found them beautiful; pathetic, dependent on her
Now she wonders who depends on who
She sprints then, thin legs trembling, eager to escape the cacophony of wings
The crows cry and scream, frantically trying to assert their control
But the arms of the man are wide and they carry the doe away
Into a place where the skies are broad and free

So, my computer isn't hooked so I've been drawing traditionally. Can't say that's a bad thing Does take away from the quality, maybe I'll scan this sometime.
In lit class we had to write a poem based on a dance we saw. Unfortunately I realized too late that she had like, fifty other things she wanted us to incorporate into the poem so this one didn't work out. But I finished on my own time and drew a picture for it.
The dance was about overcoming obstacles, the main dancer torn between succumbing to the issues and seeking help from a higher power. In the end though she chooses help, hence the end of my poem.
